There’s No Point

I don’t want to be like anyone else. I don’t want to follow anyone else. I don’t want to sound or act like anyone else. I’d like to find my own way, and find peace in everything that makes me unique.

There is, of course, opposition to this point of view. There are people upset when you choose not to fit in, to follow, when you choose to leave, do well, etc. But then again, opposition is not an entirely bad thing.

My only regret is not approaching life this way sooner. It’s so tempting to waste time searching for approval. I know, because I’ve done it. I spent a lot of time making sure I was ‘ok,’ that I fit in average with the statistics. But why would I just want to be okay? What’s so exciting about average? Nothing. Nothing is all that exciting about fitting into the exact requirements as everyone else. Nothing is exciting about looking around and seeing you’ve done everything just right to blend in, when you could’ve stood out.

If you want to write something, write it. If you want to go somewhere, go there. If you have a dream, dream it. Then go out and do it!

If everything I’m doing is just an exact copy of everyone else, then what’s the point in doing it?
