Twenty Something Years of Living
The following are a list of things I’ve learned in my Twenty-Something years of living:
All doors remain locked until kicked open.
There’re lots of doors, so if one door continues to close in your face enough, pick a different one.
Just about anything is possible, but some things require more work than others.
Pleasing everyone is pleasing no one.
You find your best work when you truly stop worrying about what people will think or say.
Don’t let others dictate the course of your own life.
We all need help at times.
Strength at first, sometimes appears as weakness.
Sometimes you don’t get permission to pursue your dreams, but you have to take it anyway.
It’s better to try and fail, than to never try at all.
You lose some things even when you’re hanging on the tightest.
People pleasing steals your independence and self worth.
It’s not selfish to make decisions that are best for yourself.
Life is full of change ups and U-Turns.
Sometimes it’s best to leave the things you’re desperately chasing after so they can happen naturally.
Fear and faith don’t go together very well.
Most dreams will never happen, if you don’t first believe in yourself.
It’s hard to create when you’re always checking what everyone else is doing.
Everything has already been done before, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be done again.
No one is happy all the time.
Darkness is a good contrast to light.
Everyone experiences pain, even if they try to avoid it.
Not all decisions are black and white.
Some questions don’t need firm answers.
Art and life are both meant to be shared.
Life is more fun with less worry.
Not everyone will like you.
Not everyone will understand you.
Not everyone agrees with you.
Everyone has different experiences and an upbringing in life that shapes who they are.
Some people close their minds off completely and end up stuck.
Problems are harder to solve when we don’t know what the question is.
Failure is inevitable. Quitting is optional.
Good things take time to build.
Everyone wears a mask.
Everyone has something they’re insecure about.
Life is about balance.
Change will happen. What change that is, is up to us.
People come and go.
Just about every stage of life can be enjoyable with the right mindset.
Sometimes you have to let go to move forward.
Some things always stay with us, but they don’t have to stop us.
Some of the most complex aspects of life are best kept simple.
Much of what shows on the surface is a result of what was built underneath.
No one knows everything.
Everyone faces battles.
No one is perfect, but grace covers the difference.
