Often times I look at my life and all I see is the failures, and the ‘wrong’ turns.

I see the idea of what and who I want to be, but am not yet. I want my life to be simple, but it’s complex. I want my life and my work to feel organized, but it’s a mess. I want to have it ‘figured out’, but I’m still a little unsure.

I guess that the greatest things we create in life, we create ‘in spite of’ our circumstances. Great things don’t happen because it was easy and clear. They happen because it was messy and confusing, but we still worked our way through.

We create something beautiful, despite the ugliness. We continue to believe, in spite of the odds stacked against us. Grace is offered, in spite of our shortcomings.

There’s always a little bit of contradiction in life. In spite of that, we move forward.
