Scotland: Tour Journal

The Scotland part of my tour was two part: two days in Edinburgh, and two days in Glasgow.

While in Edinburgh I set for myself my biggest challenge of the trip: 12 drawings in 12 hours. This required going all over the city making sketches.

I started the challenge up at the Edinburgh Castle. I drew a 20 minute pen sketch overlooking the entire city. There were so many buildings, trees, water, etc. It was one of the most ambitious sketches I’ve ever done, and I only gave myself about 20 minutes to do it.

I ended my 12 sketches around around 11 pm at five guys burgers eating dinner by sketching a customer from a distance.

The whole thing was exhausting, but it also felt great to push myself to accomplish something difficult.

Many people don’t fail in life because they don’t reach their goals, they fail because they never set any.
