I Thought Perfection Would…

I thought finding perfection would fill a void. I thought perfection would make everyone happy, including me. I thought perfection would mean I reached the peak.

But it’s hard to reach the peak when the peak keeps moving. It’s hard to feel peace when you’re never quite good enough. It’s even harder when no one else around you is ‘good enough.’

Perfection is surely a lonely mountain to climb. You’ve gotta have a certain kind of mindset to attempt it, and a certain kind of mindset to stay the course.

It’s funny how sometimes when you need help the most, people cheer you on to go further down the road that’s caused the most destruction to yourself… and when you start to turn around, people wonder why.

There are no perfect mountains. They’re more like rocky roads, with decisions acting as forks in the road, leading to wherever… ya know?
