There's No Secret

There’s no secrets about what it takes to make a great work of art. It takes time, devotion, energy, sacrifice, effort, knowledge, and skill.

Even on a work of art that’s been created ridiculously fast, an artist still may have spent months, or years practicing to get to that point. The devotion needed is tremendous. This road is long. It’s tiring, discouraging, and exhilarating all in the same. As with many things, you have to really be committed if you want to create something you’re really proud of.

Creativity comes from studying and soaking in everything you possibly can that other creatives have created in the past, and then transforming it into your own. Skill comes from spending years and years making horrible art, just so you can get through that mess and make something special.

The road is long, and the journey is difficult, but hey that’s life. The reward at the end for staying with it is sweet!
