Honest Moments

If I’m being honest I crave the likes, shares, follows, etc. I crave that acceptance, and attention.

That makes me just like everyone else. We all want to be liked, accepted, and approved.

My problem isn’t that I like acceptance. My problem is in what I see happen to me when I fall into solely seeking the approval of others. My life suffers. My art suffers. I’m scared to take risks, because taking risks means the risk of losing acceptance. Taking risks means I might be perceived as weird, or I might say something wrong.

It’s one of the great ironies in life that the more you seek acceptance from others, the less likely you are to find it.
