Some Things Stay The Same

I grew up in a culture that promoted the ‘now’ possibly more than any other generation before us. My generation made internet faster, communication instant, and sharing immediate. We put phones, now essentially small computers, in people’s pockets. We made everything wireless, and quickly accessible. We made results quick, and feedback immediate. We made our lives public, and ‘fame’ only a click away.

Things have certainly changed, and they’ve changed quickly. They always do. Some things, however, have stayed the same. For instance, big ideas still take time to create. Being different still requires some ‘unfollowing’ of trends. Creating a unique, and major project still may take months or years to build. You still can’t become original, if you continuously try to copy everyone else. Change is still difficult. It’s still time consuming.

No matter how fast society changes, and speeds up, some things will always stay the same.
