Error: Malfunction
When a computer encounters an ‘error’ it freezes. It can’t think beyond exactly as it’s been programmed to do. It doesn’t make adjustments or use common sense. It only uses what has been built into it, the exact way it has been programmed to do.
We are not computers, yet many of us, when we encounter problems freeze. We haven’t been trained to think and problem solve for ourselves; so when problems happen that go beyond the way we’ve been taught, or what we’ve been told to do, we freeze. Or, we blindly buckle down on senseless things we were taught, that no longer apply to our current situations.
The beautiful thing about humans is our resiliency, our ability to adapt. So when problems come our way, we can adapt, or we can freeze.
