Kansas City, MO: Tour Journal
I’ve been to Kansas City several times, but this particular trip was different. This was the start of a mission. I had asked a friend to go up there with me for the purpose of shooting video clips of me working on sketches and walking around KC. It was pretty nerve racking asking, because I really didn’t know what I was doing. Although, I had done a little sketching on my short backpacking trip to Europe, I didn’t have anyone coming along with me for the specific purpose of documenting it.
Once we got there, I picked a few spots to sit and do some sketches. The sketches were rough to say the least, and it was absolutely freezing the whole time! The good thing was, it was that first step I needed getting out of my comfort zone. It was that first step of facing fear, that helped me get this whole journey started.
The start of any good journey starts with a little bit of fear, and some doubt. I knew what I wanted to do. I just didn’t know if I was good enough to do it. I had to take the first step to find out, and then another, and another. Fear is the enemy of faith.
