Road to Reconstruction

When I started traveling, I wasn’t really sure why I was going. I didn’t know what I was going to learn or take away. I didn’t know who I’d meet, or exactly what I’d do, but I went anyway. I think that’s a key in life, to go anyway. We rarely get the full clarity we search for. Mostly we only receive the gift of clarity in retrospect.

Some opportunities present themselves to us, and we’ve got to take them, even if we don’t have full clarity.

I also learned something else. It’s the people, not the places, that make somewhere special. Throughout the whole trip, I was fortunate to make connections with strangers from all around the world. So many people literally went out of their way to help me find my destination, or help me understand a sign. I had so many breakfast, lunches, and dinners with people I met on the spot. It’s how we interact with the people around us, that really brings us the most joy to our lives.
