1 Year No Social Media Challenge

I’m going completely off social media for an entire year starting in a week and a half: August 1, 2019 - August 1, 2020.

I’m not for sure what I’m hoping to gain from this, but I know it directly addresses two of the biggest fears I’ve had in life: ‘missing out’ & ‘being forgotten.’ Over the course of this past year, I’ve been working really hard to overcome fears and face challenges.

I’ve been on social media for 10 years straight without really taking any extended breaks. There’s been many times I’ve thought about deleting it or taking extended breaks, but I can always come up with multiple reasons why I need it, so I never take the leap.

Well, ready or not, nows that time.

I’ll be posting updates on my website in the form of a new journal every Monday, a new painting the first of every month, and new videos every now and then. If you’re curious what a whole year without social media looks like & want to follow along, feel free to check my website.

P.S. I checked my Instagram 92 different times over the week (13 times a day). To top it off, I don’t even think I posted anything on there. It’s crazy how addictive those apps can become.

P.S.S. In the past year I’ve travelled almost 45,000 miles mostly solo, and did a drawing everyday for a 50 day span of that traveling. I feel like 1 year off social media will be much much more difficult! If for some reason I get partway through this and want to stop, I will.
