Time Wasted
Think about all the times we mindlessly check our phones. We’re bored so we instantly go to social media and begin scrolling. Or how many times do we come home from busy days and flip on the TV and zone out?
We get in these habits of filling so much of our time with meaningless tasks that lead us nowhere. What if you took those 15 minutes of scrolling through your phone and instead wrote a blog, read a book, or something else that’s a low energy productive task? How much would that build to after days, weeks, months, years of this.
I understand the feeling though. You’ve come home and you’re tired. There’s just not much energy left. But there are many replacement tasks we can do with our free time that are also relaxing, but don’t expend much energy.
This blog post only took me 15 minutes to write when I first woke up. It will probably take you 2-3 minutes to read. It’s 15 minutes I know I would’ve spent meaninglessly scrolling through social media if I wasn’t taking a full year break from it.
And with this post, I created something generous that may help you, created something with consistency, improved my writing abilities, and hopefully even gained a tiny bit more trust from people like you who read my journal entries. It benefits both you and I with lout expending very much effort. You can do this same thing for others if you choose to reallocate even just a small amount of time you would’ve spent on empty tasks.
